An intimate celebration of love, contemporary floral artistry and sun-drenched summer days at Golden July Villa.
Some weddings have a way of making everything feel beautifully effortless. Ben and Lydia's intimate destination wedding in Zakynthos was exactly that.
Travelling all the way from New Zealand, the couple brought their closest friends and family together on the Greek island of Zakynthos for a celebration that felt wonderfully personal, relaxed and full of love.
From our very first conversations, Ben and Lydia were an absolute joy to work with. Their easygoing personalities and genuine happiness set the tone for the entire experience, allowing us to create something that felt entirely true to them.
An Intimate Wedding at Golden July Villa in Zakynthos
Set against the natural beauty of Zakynthos, Golden July Villa provided the perfect setting for a private, intimate wedding celebration.
With the warmth of the June sunshine and the villa's beautiful surroundings as our backdrop, we wanted the design to feel like a natural extension of the location, while introducing something unexpected.
Rather than transforming the space entirely, our approach was to complement its existing character through thoughtful details, soft colours and contemporary floral artistry.
The result was a setting that felt romantic, fresh and quietly expressive.
Contemporary Floral Design Inspired by Spring
For Ben and Lydia, flowers became more than decoration. They became art.
Our creative direction centred around a romantic, spring-inspired floral concept, using delicate pastel gerberas and a playful mix of blooms to create sculptural arrangements that felt almost like living art installations.
We wanted the flowers to bring movement, personality and a sense of lightness to the surroundings. Soft colours complemented the natural tones of the villa, while the contemporary shapes introduced an artistic contrast.
Flowing fabrics added another layer of softness, gently framing the floral compositions without overwhelming the setting.
Every element was carefully considered to create a delicate balance between the natural environment and our creative vision: romantic without being traditional, artistic without feeling overly styled.
One Long Table, Endless Beautiful Moments
With a small group of their favourite people gathered in Greece, intimacy was at the heart of the celebration.
Instead of separating guests across multiple tables, we created one beautiful long dining table where everyone could sit together, share stories, laugh and enjoy the evening.
Surrounded by pastel flowers, delicate fabrics and the warmth of a Greek summer, the table became the centrepiece of the celebration.
There was something particularly special about bringing everyone together in this way. No distance, no formality, just a shared table filled with the people who mattered most.
A Celebration That Felt Entirely Like Them
What made Ben and Lydia's wedding so memorable wasn't only the setting or the design. It was the atmosphere they brought with them.
From the beginning of the planning journey until the very last moments of their wedding day, they approached everything with an openness, warmth and relaxed spirit that made the entire experience a pleasure.
Their wedding was a beautiful reminder that intimacy doesn't mean compromising on creativity. Sometimes, a smaller celebration gives us even more freedom to explore meaningful details, unexpected design ideas and experiences that feel deeply personal.
A sun-drenched villa, flowers that felt like art, one long table and a group of loved ones who had travelled across the world to be there.
Sometimes, that is everything a wedding needs.
